Powder Coating

Powder coating is an advanced method powder1of applying a decorative and protective finish to a wide range of materials and products. The powder used for the process is a mixture of finely ground particles of pigment and resin, which is sprayed onto a surface to be coated. The charged powder particles adhere to the electrically grounded surfaces until heated and fused into a smooth coating in a curing oven. The result is a uniform, durable, high-quality, and attractive finish.

Our state-of-the-art powder coating systems are capable of either a six stage iron or a six stage zinc phosphate pretreatment. Immediately following pretreatment, the components are dried prior to paint application. The parts are then powder coated, utilizing either manual or automatic spray equipment, with the appropriate powder finish. Finally, the product is cured according to the powder manufacturer’s specifications.

Powder coated surfaces are more resistant to scratching, chipping, fading, and wearing than other finishes. The color stays bright and vibrant longer. The color selection is virtually unlimited, offering high and low gloss, metallic, and clear finishes.

Powder coating contains no solvents, and releases virtually no VOCs into the atmosphere.
